Enclosure No.2.
Translation.
127
(Extract from Tai Kwong Po, Hong Kong. 25th. Üctober,1927).
Joint Resignation of the Anti-Japanese Boycott
Commission.
The Anti-Japanese Boycott Comission, Shun Tak
District Branch, is constituted of associations of
different classes. Its original object is to enforce
the Boycott and strictly to prohit the importation
of all Japanese goods. Unexpectedly the pickets organ-
ized for the purpose only aim at their own profit.
When any goods are seized, they will sell them caring
not whether they were enemy goods or not and keep 60%
of the proceeds as their reward and the remaining 40%
for their food, for which 40 cents are given to each
of them every day. It was at first resolved that the
pickets should be four in all but later their number
grew to 12. The Cormission cannot keep them under
proper control, and many malpractices are committed by
then, causing many complaints by the people. The Com-
mission being unable to improve them have proposed to
resim jointly, and issued a manifesto that in future
they will not be responsible for any examination of
goods, so that they may not remain mere puppets of others.
